Phoenix vs. Atlanta

He scored 17 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter as the Hawks took advantage of the absence of Suns point guard Steve Nash with a 120-111 victory on Feb. 9 last season.

It was one of Phoenix's eight home losses last season, but Johnson insisted he didn't take any special pleasure in beating his former club.

"I'm happy we came in here and beat a great team," he said.

Repeating that performance could be a challenge for the Hawks (18-22), who have lost 10 of their last 14 games, including five of six.

Johnson's recent shooting woes could make it even more difficult. He's averaging 15.3 points and shooting only 34.0 percent from the field in the first three games of the Hawks' five-game road trip, which concludes when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

OLBERMANN: With this energy of change, this new sort of larger than usual of this energy of change among the electorate at all ends of the spectrum seemingly, whichever of those means of change is considered the minimum, whether it‘s Clinton, Edwards, Obama, is there any construction in which it would not be enough to energize the voters this fall and there could be Republican actually presenting change as if they‘re had been significant change from the Republicans more recently than 1980?

MADDOW: Well, I think it‘s going to be hard for a Republican to run on a change platform in the general. I think they can run on the change platform among themselves, that‘s amusing to see Mitt Romney run as the change candidate for example.

OLBERMANN: I‘m different than my father and mother.

Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence

Part of our ongoing commitment might well express itself in an offer to grant asylum to any Vietnamese who fears for his life under a new regime which included the NLF. Then we must make what reparations we can for the damage we have done. We must provide the medical aid that is badly needed, in this country if necessary.

Meanwhile, we in the churches and synagogues have a continuing task while we urge our government to disengage itself from a disgraceful commitment. We must be prepared to match actions with words by seeking out every creative means of protest possible.

As we counsel young men concerning military service we must clarify for them our nation's role in Vietnam and challenge them with the alternative of conscientious objection. I am pleased to say that this is the path now being chosen by more than 70 students at my own Alma Mater, Morehouse College, and I recommend it to all who find the American course in Vietnam a dishonorable and unjust one.

Attorney General's office searches Celis' office, grabs financial ...

CORPUS CHRISTI — Investigators from the Texas Attorney General's Office served a search warrant Friday on the law offices of CGT International Law Group, removing boxes of financial documents, including tax returns.

The firm's owner, Mauricio Celis, was indicted in November by a Nueces County grand jury on charges of impersonating a lawyer and a police officer. The attorney general sought an injunction in October against the firm, alleging that Celis misrepresented himself as an attorney and asking a judge to shut the firm down.

Friday's raid is an indication that the state is considering criminal charges.

The raid came one day after investigators interviewed accountants for Celis.

Celis' attorney, Tony Canales, declined to be interviewed but issued a statement through an Austin political consulting firm hired by Celis, attacking the attorney general on partisan grounds.

Clinton Allies May Dump Millions Into Anti-Obama Group

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A panicked and cash-short Clinton campaign is seriously considering giving up on the Nevada caucuses and on the South Carolina primary in order to regroup and to save resources for the massive 19-state mega-primary on February 5.

At the same time, some top independent expenditure groups supporting Clinton have been exploring the creation of an anti-Obama "527 committee" that would take unlimited contributions from a few of Clinton's super-rich backers and from a handful of unions to finance television ads and direct mail designed to tarnish the Illinois Senator's image.

The Clinton campaign has raised over $100 million, but has "only" $15 to $20 million left. It faces donor reluctance to give more in the face of the Iowa defeat and the prospect of a second loss in New Hampshire today.

Market Watch: Poised at a critical juncture

FII selling is the drag and retail panic, the wildcard. Always difficult to gauge how much more is yet to come.

As we have seen last week, levels are not important at such a time. The screen, which was only reflecting greed these last few months, is flashing fear. Trading is generally tough at such junctures. Contrarian long trades or aggressive shorts could both go horribly wrong. Don't bet your house on the market now, it would be imprudent. Another buying opportunity is coming, just that there is no way of knowing if the floor was hit on Friday, whether it is 5600 or whether we will plunge to 5000 again. Let the market decide that. For us, it's time to shed our green eyeshades, smell the coffee and get back to the fundamentals. There may be bargains in many mid-caps this week.
