| De Beers Cuts Marketing Budget, Concentrating on male Consumer
De Beers is cutting its U.S. marketing budget, forcing the layoff of 11 employees working on the Diamond Trading Co. (DTC) account at advertising firm JWT, National Jeweler reports. Sally Morrison of the Diamond Information Center confirmed to National Jeweler that the cutbacks are related to the perception that the United States is headed into a recession, and that 2008 is expected to be a tough year for everyone. As a result, De Beers is refocusing its efforts to concentrate on the male consumer; the company's "beacon" products, such as Journey diamond jewelry and three-stone rings, won't include anymore female-targeted advertising. Morrison confirmed that the loss of advertising would be counteracted by more public relations, and that those employees impacted were not senior level. The news is the latest in a string of bad news for the jewelry industry as a whole, as De Beers always has been known for its robust advertising campaigns.

I am sure your kids are the little robots you've programed them to be. Your husband is just a larger version saying lots of "yes dear" and "honey, what time is out tee-time" My husband is a grown man and probably had experiences that you've onlyread about when you are alone and none of your country club mini-van soccer moms aren't looking. He's toured with rock bands as security and been a mixed martial arts fighter. When he started working with kids is when he slowed down. He will look just as good as anyone else looks with wrinkles as I will. Live for today and worry about the future when it comes. You miss alot of life if you worry about 15 years from now. WOW, you must have big frown/worry lines...don't do Botox that would be an enhancement..you know what that leads to. I hope you stop judging before you hit nursing home age or you know where your headed.

Continue voting in bloc (your one-party system reminds me of China...), and continue to produce dirty dirty oil. Ironically, it's likely to be your province that will be the first to pay the price, environmentally. Drought is a nasty word, and what water you have left will just keep feeding the tar sands, and coming out contaminated beyond repair. But I'm just some liberal yokel from Ontario, right? JCPenney store in downtown Coudersport slated for closure
COUDERSPORT — Downtown Coudersport could be facing a tough blow in February with the closing of the JCPenney store, an anchor tenant in the business district.Tim Lyons, public relations officer for the merchandising giant, confirmed plans by JCPenney corporate offices to close the store, eliminating 12 jobs. He described the closing as a "difficult business decision." Several efforts are under way by business leaders and government officials in Coudersport to save the store, but local leaders concede that the prospects are dim."Losing JCPenney could really hurt Coudersport," said Stan Swank, a vice-president with the Coudersport Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. "People come to Coudersport to shop at JCPenney and then they stop at other businesses, which helps our economy."The Coudersport store has been at the same location since opening in 1930.
